ECHO

Turns command-echoing on/off, or displays a message on screen.

Syntax:

ECHO [on|off]

or

ECHO Message

on – turns command-echoing on.

off – turns command-echoing off.

Message – the message to be displayed.

Usage:

When you use ECHO on/off in batch file, it doesn’t affect the settings of Command prompt.

You can prevent echoing a single line of batch file by inserting “@” character before it.

To use special characters for ECHO command output redirecting, use ^ before them.

Examples:

Hello World:

ECHO Hello World!

Empty line:

ECHO.
