GOTO

Makes the execution process jump to the specified line of the batch file.

Syntax:

GOTO Label

Label – predefined label in the batch file.

Usage:

To jump to the end of file or subroutine starting with the label, use command GOTO :EOF. If you call this from the main part of batch file, it will make CMD.exe exit from this script. If you call it from subroutine, you will exit from this subroutine.

You can include spaces in a label name; all other characters must be alphanumeric.

GOTO command uses only first 8 characters to define a label.

If you use invalid label name for GOTO command, it displays message ‘Label not found’.

Examples:

GOTO somelabel
