LABEL

Shows or modifies the volume label of the disk.

Syntax:

LABEL [/mp] [Volume] [Label]

/mp – indicates that Volume is a mount point or volume name.

Volume – drive letter, mount point or volume name.

Label – label for the drive.

Usage:

If you specify mount point or volume name, you must always use /mp parameter.

NTFS volumes can be labeled with strings up to 32 characters with spaces.

If you run LABEL command without any parameters, it will prompt for them.

Examples:

LABEL d: Work
