PATH

Displays or sets the search path to executable files.

Syntax:

PATH [[Drive:]Path[;...][;%PATH%]]

[Drive:]Path – drive and folder to be added to the search path.

; ‑ separates directories in the search path.

%PATH% ‑ appends the search path with its existing value.

Usage:

If you use semicolon as the only PATH command parameter, it clears the search path and makes command processor search for executable files in current folder only.

Command processor always searches for an executable file in current folder first. Then it searches in folders in the same order as they are mentioned in PATH variable.

Examples:

Add a folder to the search path:

PATH c:\SomeFolder;%PATH%
