RECOVER

Recovers readable data from a bad disk.

Syntax:

RECOVER [Drive:][Path]FileName

[Drive:][Path]FileName – file to be recovered. Wildcards are NOT allowed.

Usage:

RECOVER command retrieves data with sector-by-sector reading and extracts data from good sectors. Data from bad sectors is lost. Good and bad sectors are marked by CHKDSK command.

Examples:

Recover the file from floppy disk:

RECOVER a:\Report.doc
