Renames file(s). The same with REN command.

Syntax:

RENAME [Drive:][Path]FileName1 FileName2

[Drive:][Path]FileName1 – path and name of the file to be renamed. Wildcards (?, *) are allowed.

FileName2 – new name of the file. Wildcards (?, *) are allowed.

Usage:

You cannot change file’s drive and path while renaming it, use MOVE command instead.

Wildcards in FileName1 and FileName2 should be placed on the same places.

If the file named as FileName2 already exists, you will be prompted of replacing it.

You can rename folders as well as files.
